Our Research Goes Wide

The R&D Unit was established in January 2013. It goes wide with the tagline:

                                                  'Ideas Worked Out'

The Unit embarked on the motion 'To Enhance Communication in English Among Students of Form 2AZ and Form 1IR in SMKA AL-IRSHAD'. Through continuous reflection, we managed to focus on the speaking problems among the students of the two classes. Then, through several intervention programmes, we managed to tune the students involved to start speaking actively in class. We have introduced several standard procedures to enhance the activities of speaking in the class one of which is the monthly award of certificates to those who have shown efforts in speaking English in class. The final incentive will be a grand award of a shield with the winner's name engraved on it.

The students at the moment are competing to win the grand award. The students involved have been exposed to activities like role-playing, singing, acapella and song-writing. The role-play session is carried out once a week based on a 270-page dialogue book produced by the research unit through a five-year compilation effort.
